ASUS Transformer Trio - Android hybrid

Hey guys! I'm back once again, this time with the last in it's transforming series; the ASUS Transformer Trio.

Asus Transformer Trio with Android and Windows

ASUS loves to give form to their design, this time being a 11.6 inch three-in-one transformer. If you have been following my first post, where I reviewed about the Acer Aspire R7, you'll probably be thinking that the similarities are there. Well, let me assure you that ASUS add a twist to this transformer; Having both Windows and Android.

What do i mean by that? This transformer has the ability to switch from Windows to Android, and all you have to do is detach the screen from the keyboard. The trick is that the keyboard has a built-in Window OS while the tablet itself is already Android!

Here's a video ASUS did to promote this Transformer, which I think was very fun and creative.

All in all, this Transformer has 3 functions:
1. Tablet mode (Android bits pre-installed)

2. Laptop mode (Windows OS bits in keyboard)
3. Desktop mode (Use as dock station)

You might be wondering, do I have the choice to switch from Android to Window at any time? Yes you can! All you have to do is press this magical button.

The key to your solutions
The Transformer book runs on both Android Jelly Bean 4.2 and Windows 8, processing on both Intel Atom and Core processor. The size of the display is 11.6 inch, with a 10-point multi-touch. Storage space is also sufficient as it can store up to 16/32/64GB EMMC on Android and Up to 500/750/1TB HDD.

The rear Camera is 5MP with auto-focus and 1080p recording, and Front Camera having 720p HD.
Dimension 304.92 x 193.78 x 23.6,  9.7mm for Tablet and 13.4mm for Docking. Portability is also handy as the total weight is 1.7kg. tablet at 0.7kg while the keyboard is at 1kg. They make use of B&O ICEpower audio system, so you can be sure to have outstanding high quality audio. It also run on Intel HD Graphics 4400, so intense gaming on this device is not advisable. However, this device is still as powerful, having the USB3.0 Superspeed port. You can be sure to transfer files with lighting fast speed.
Concept of this device seems nice, however costly. I give it 5 out of 10.

For a 11.6 inch screen, I find it expensive to be owning one at SGD $1,998. It's the same price range as the 15.6 inch Acer Aspire R7. so I would definitely like a bigger screen. If you do own an android table and Windows laptop, then you wouldn't have the desire for this. I do think that this Transformer will help lower your work fold as the functionality does help.

Well, that's all for this week's review. See you next time!

ASUS ROG Tytan Series G70AB - Turbo titan

Hey guys! I'm back with another PC review. Last week, I covered on a transforming laptop. Now it's time to show you a transforming desktop! I present to you: ASUS ROG Tytan G70AB

Have you heard of Republic of Gamers? They are ASUS's very own PC Gaming Brand, it was formed with a sole purpose of delivering the most innovative hardcore hardware for truly dedicated gamers. The brand was founded in 2006, and ever since then they are now quite legendary among enthusiast when it comes to performance.

Alright, history aside, below are pictures showing the super weapon.

This desktop is pretty sweet, as it has ability to give you more power by pressing the turbo button. It has a 10-way vending system for easy cooling, taking advantage of it's 10 cooling fans. Yeap! you didn't hear wrongly, I said 10 cooling fans! Don't you know how sweet that is? I'll show you how the desktop looks like turbo-on and off.
How do you find it? Not amazed yet by it's transform? The ASUS G70AB was built with a better specification after it's big brother - The ASUS ROG Tytan CG8890. Below is the transformation video of the big brother. They are siblings, so they are sure to have the same traits!

Pretty amazing huh?

The G70AB has the same function, just that the cooling fans are black, unlike it's brother. Here's the video advertising on the G70AB, showing it's 10 way ventilation system and their build in SonicMaster audio, which in my opinion. sounds like heaven!

Time to show you the specifications and my ratings!
The G70AB runs on Windows 8.1, and has a 4th generation Intel Core i5/i7 Processor. Having an Intel Z87 Chipset and a NVIDIA Geforce GTX780 3GB Graphic card, you can be sure to have an insanely fast and smooth gaming experience. It also supports multiple screens, so go crazy gaming!

It comes with 4GB up to 32GB on Memory, and is Dual channel, running DD3 at 1600MHz. The desktop also has four expansion slots and can store up to 15TB on SATA 6b/s on Hard Drive and 256GB SATA  6Gb/s on SSD.

This is a super weapon, so it have to be run using a 700W or 500W Power supply. The desktop also comes with Blu-Ra Disc Combo and Writer, and has High Definition build in SonicMaster ( ASUS's very own rig to sound perfection)

With it's bulky appearance, it is 24KG in weight! Better ask for delivery service if you are considering getting one.
With it's transforming case and specifications, I give it 7 out of 10.

Pricing at SGD $3,790 I find that you can go for better specifications at a cheaper cost. It reason it is priced so high is probably because of it's special case ( by the way, hundreds of gamer just wants the casing alone! ) and the brand Republic of Gamers.

Of course, when compared to it's older brother, which is priced at SGD $5,900 the price and specification seems cheaper. Overall, it is still very lasting and can be sure to entertain both you and your house guests if they do come and fiddle with your desktop while you're not around.

Alright! That's the end of yet another transforming review. See you next time!

The Acer Aspire R7 - The transforming beast

Hey guys! Today i'll be reviewing on the Acer Aspire R7, your not so average laptop. Alright, before i start. Let me just show you what a beast this laptop is!

Why is it a beast? It looks just like a normal lap-oh god the touch-pad is not at it's usual place!

Yeah, let me explain. This isn't your average laptop. It's a transforming multi-touch laptop-cum-tablet, and it can do wonders. Check out these awesome transforms.

Making use of the Ezel-hinge, this laptop is able to turn into a tablet. The reason why the touch-pad is not at it's usual place is because with this multi-purpose all-in-one machine, who needs one? Acer purposely had it out of place to promote it's usability. Since it has a touch screen, why not use it, right?

As shown above, there is a four-stage usage mode that this laptop can do.

1. Notebook mode. You can use it like any other laptop.
2. Ezel-mode, where you can be one with the laptop.
3.Pad mode. Hey look it's an iPad!
4. Display mode. Someone's in front of you wanting to see your work.
No problemo, you can just flip the screen backwards.

So what do you think? His outer strength is superb right? Well so is his inner strength!
Coming at a whopping SGD$ 1,998, The Acer Aspire R7 is running on Windows 8.1 and had 4th generation Intel Core i5-4200U processor (1.60GHz with TurboBoost up to 2.60GHz 3MB).

It is 15.6" inch and is in Full HD with a 10-point multi-touch screen. A active stylus pen is included when you buy this laptop, isn't that great? Now it's like a Wacom! With 8GB of RAM, you wouldn't need to worry about lag, especially having 1TB HDD. NVIDIA Geforce GT750M Graphics card also lets you do gaming, which is pretty awesome!.
Portability and Functionality in this device is good, I give it 9 out of 10 .

I just love the idea of having a transforming laptop, it has so much benefits. As a designer, I find this very useful for presentations and even graphical use. I can sketch on the spot with the stylus and save an additional step of not having to do it on paper and then scan it in. Its not a full 10, as I do feel that you have to take great care of this laptop, especially when 'transforming'. The hinge can be quite delicate.

Well, that's all for this week. Keep in touch for more reviews!
